Brexit

Today my mum asked should she vote in or out for Brexit.

The truth: is I don’t know. But I do know that the current situation isn’t working for the British.

They all seem miserable over-regulated and a bit cold. The weather is shit.

I suggested voting out of Europe is a bit like getting divorced or quitting you job. It feels like a radical change, and in the short time you might be worse off; but under times of change shit gets real; and maybe the choices that are made when it feels real and responsible are closer to your own values (rather than an ideal). It shakes off ennui.

I’d vote out, I said. But that’s based on nothing but the vibe of the thing.

She said ok, based on the notion that upon Brexit the weather might also improve.

It possibly will.
